Female Reproductive System
A woman’s body goes through many stages – from the monthly cycle to menopause – and herbs have been part of caring for it for centuries. In this category we have gathered herbs for women that folk medicine has traditionally used to support the female reproductive system and hormonal balance.
Among the tinctures you will find Women’s Care – a blend of calendula, astragalus, wild geranium, yarrow and cinquefoil, Hormonal Balance with yarrow, Cat’s Foot, Calendula, Melissa, Potentilla, Astragalus, Rutin and Cystoclean. Some are traditionally associated with comfort during the cycle, others with the good condition of the intimate area.
For infusions we offer dried herbs: yarrow, astragalus, cat’s foot, calendula flower, red clover and walnut leaf. A cup of warm herbal tea can also be a pleasant ritual to unwind at the end of the day.
Herbs do not replace regular check-ups with a gynaecologist, nor a varied diet and an active lifestyle. Many of them are not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so during these periods, and if you take hormonal or other medication, consult a doctor first.
FAQ
Women’s Care is a combination of five herbs – calendula, astragalus, wild geranium, yarrow and cinquefoil – while Hormonal Balance contains only yarrow. If you are looking for a broader blend, choose the former. You can also look at the “For Women” set, which includes both tinctures.
Many herbs, including some in this category, are not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Therefore, during pregnancy and breastfeeding do not start taking them without your doctor’s explicit approval. Contraindications are listed on each product page.
Some herbs can interact with medicines, including hormonal ones. Before combining a tincture with contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy, ask a gynaecologist or pharmacist. They will help you decide whether a herb is suitable and which one.
