Pressure at work, a fast pace and a constant flow of information all place demands on the nervous system. In this category we have selected herbs for the nervous system and calm that folk medicine has traditionally used for relaxation and to maintain a good mood.

  • Balance – peppermint, valerian and lemon balm in one tincture;
  • Relax – peppermint, valerian and hawthorn;
  • Melissa (lemon balm), Mint, Hypericum (St John’s wort) and Primulina (cowslip);
  • Rosemary and Dilanka – traditionally associated with alertness and concentration.

If you enjoy an evening tea, choose from the dried herbs: valerian root, lemon balm, peppermint, chamomile, linden, lavender, cowslip, rosemary, red clover and St John’s wort. A fragrant infusion of lemon balm and chamomile is a lovely way to end the day.

Good sleep, regular exercise and screen-free rest remain the foundation of mental balance – herbs complement them. Bear in mind that St John’s wort can interact with a number of medicines, including antidepressants and contraceptives. If you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor, and if you feel anxious or low for a long time, seek professional help.

FAQ

Both tinctures contain peppermint and valerian. In Balance the third herb is lemon balm, while in Relax it is hawthorn. The choice is a matter of personal preference; you can read more about each herb on the product page.

St John’s wort can affect how many medicines work – antidepressants, anticoagulants, hormonal contraceptives and others. So if you take any medication at all, be sure to ask a doctor or pharmacist before starting Hypericum.

The general recommendation is 20 drops (about 1 ml) in a glass of water, 3 times a day, 10–15 minutes before meals. If you have questions about a specific product, see the instructions for use on its page. Do not exceed the daily dose and do not combine with alcohol or sedatives without consulting a doctor.
