Diabetes
People with diabetes know how important everyday decisions are – what they eat, how much they move, how they sleep. Many of them are also interested in the herbs known from Bulgarian folk tradition. In this category you will find bilberry – a plant whose leaves have been part of home herbal teas for generations.
The Bilberry (Mirtiliy) tincture is a water-alcohol extract of bilberry leaf (192 mg per 1 ml) with no added colourings, flavourings or stabilisers. We also offer dried bilberry leaf for infusions. In folk medicine, bilberry leaves are traditionally used for the good condition of the digestive system and as part of a balanced lifestyle.
We must be clear: food supplements do not treat diabetes and are not intended to regulate blood sugar. They do not replace insulin, medication or the diet prescribed by an endocrinologist. Never change your therapy on your own. If you take diabetes medication, consult a doctor before adding any herb, and keep monitoring your levels as usual.
A varied diet, exercise and regular check-ups remain the foundation of looking after your health. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, herbs should only be taken with a doctor’s approval.
FAQ
Bilberry is a food supplement, not a medicine, and is not intended to regulate blood sugar. It does not replace insulin or diabetes medication. If you would like to include it in your routine, discuss it with your endocrinologist.
The ingredients of Bilberry list only bilberry leaf, 45% vol. ethanol and deionised water – no added sugar. The tincture contains alcohol, and a dose is 20 drops (about 1 ml) dissolved in a glass of water, 3 times a day.
The tincture is convenient for precise dosing and for carrying with you, while the dried leaf suits people who prefer tea or avoid alcohol. For how to prepare the infusion, see the instructions for use on the product page. In both cases, consult a doctor first.
