The medicinal plant fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is closely related to both parsley and carrot. In our country, it is also known as wild dill, sea fennel, and smind. The stem reaches 1-2 m in height. The petals are yellow and bloom in July and August. It grows in the Mediterranean region and in warmer areas of our country. As an herb, it is used in the form of essential oil and tea made from the seeds. Fennel herb is a good remedy for relieving abdominal pain and bloating. It is recommended for respiratory tract inflammation due to its ability to liquefy bronchial secretions.

Bloated stomach and gas are often caused by irregular eating habits and consuming unhealthy foods such as excessive carbohydrates or spicy foods. If you eat too quickly and don't chew your food thoroughly enough, you may also experience similar complaints. It's entirely possible to have a bloated stomach due to constipation. This is a condition where you cannot pass stools regularly, leading to discomfort in the abdominal area, formation and release of gas, and inability to use the bathroom. This condition is unpleasant and painful.

Colitis is a disease that affects the lining of the large intestine. When the inflammatory process involves the small intestine as well, it is called enterocolitis. In most cases, it occurs as a result of other digestive system diseases - gastritis, ulcers, or after prolonged antibiotic treatment. The cause can also be an infection (with bacteria, viruses, parasites), as well as improper nutrition.

Symptoms depend on the cause of the disease. Typical signs of colitis are: abdominal pain; spasms; diarrhea with or without blood in the stool or constipation; meteorism (gas in the abdomen).
