Water-ethyl extract; 1 ml of tincture contains the equivalent of: 

• 14 mg birch bark
• ethanol 45% vol. 0.4 ml
• 0.6 ml deionized water

The only tree in nature with white bark is the birch. The white color is due to a substance called betulin, derived from the Latin name Betula. Every part of this beautiful tree /leaves, sap, buds, bark/ has its healing role. White birch leaves are among the 50 most exported herbs from the country, from the so-called high-tonnage herbs - those exported by tons. The strongest interest is in birch tinctures. They contain a large amount of vitamin C. To maximize the beneficial properties of birch leaves, the most important thing is that their collection, drying, and storage for commercial needs must follow specific rules. Birch leaves are collected after flowering in May and June, until September, during the period when they are fully developed. They should have a nice green color, they should neither be yellowed nor picked too early, as they quickly turn black. The birch lives up to 150 years, is undemanding, cold-resistant and drought-resistant, is a pioneer species, grows quickly and purifies the air from pathogenic microorganisms. The so-called downy birch contains methyl salicylate. Probably for this reason, from ancient times until today, the birch is called "the white friend" and "guardian of the home".
