MOUNTAIN TEA is also known as "Pirin", "Trigrad", "Alibotush" and "Sharplaninski tea"

Its Latin name is "Sideritis scardica". Interestingly, the species epithet scardica comes from the ancient name "Scardus" - which is the Latin name for Shar Mountain, where it was found and described by Göttingen botanist August Grisebach.

#Mountain Tea - Balkan Endemic

Mountain Tea is a Balkan ENDEMIC. It is considered one of the wonders of the Rhodopes, due to its incomparable healing power. An herb that they say is magical and cures everything.

Mursalitsa Peak is located in the Rhodopes. Legend has it that Mountain Tea grows where Orpheus's tears fell while searching for his beloved Eurydice. One of nature's most healing herbs appeared in this place.
