Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a perennial, herbaceous plant, member of the Mint family (Lamiaceae). It favors moderate climate, in Bulgaria you can find the herb in shrublands, sparse forests and rocky areas, gardens. Other names for lemon balm are: Limonche, Matorka, Pchelinak, Bee herb. The most commonly used part of the herb are the leaves. They are rich in citral, citronellol, geraniol, caffeic, oleic, rosmarinic and ursolic acid, tannins, terpenes, eugenol. Due to this, the herb has calming, sedative, analgesic and spasmolytic properties.
Lemon balm is used for:

- loss of appetite
2 tablespoons of the herb are steeped in 500 ml of boiling water in a suitable container and left for 2 hours. Strain and drink 150 ml 3 times daily.
