Ginger - the herb of 2020

#Medicinal Plants - Herbs

Bulgaria is among the countries with the highest percentage of medicinal plant species relative to total plant species in the world. In this regard, our country ranks alongside countries like India and China, which have much larger territories.

From the vast diversity of plants, around 270 species of herbs are collected, and their applications are found in pharmaceutical, perfumery, cosmetic, and food industries.

Each plant has its unique chemical profile, helping to treat various diseases or as prevention.

And while in some species all parts can be used, in others the medicinal and healing properties are contained in the leaves, in others in the stems, flowers and bark, and in others in the root.

#Ginger - "Zingiber officinale"

The ginger root - "Zingiber officinale" is one of the most popular plants in our country in recent years, and although it doesn't grow in our territory, it has numerous medicinal properties. It's also well known for its reputation as an aphrodisiac.
