Tribulus terrestris (Tribulus terrestris) is a fruit-bearing, Mediterranean, herbaceous, perennial plant from the Zygophyllaceae family (Zygophyllaceae). The herb is widely distributed worldwide and thrives in temperate and tropical regions. In our lands, Tribulus grows in dry, rocky areas, along roads and vineyards. You might encounter it under different names such as: Trabuzan, Devil's Thorn, Devil's Eyelash, Herb Head, Cat's Head. The usable parts of the plant are the stems and whole plants. They are rich in steroidal phytosaponins (campesterol, hectogenin, stigmasterol, chlorogenin, b-sitosterol, etc.), sterols, alkaloids, fatty oil, flavonoids.
