Beneficial for stomach and digestive tract

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is a biennial or perennial plant from the family of dill, parsley and carrot. It is widespread throughout the country and in almost all vegetable gardens. It is also known as: Pharmacy dill, Wild fennel, Fennel and Swind. The usable parts are the fruits (seeds). They are rich in essential oil (up to 6%), anethole, flavonoids, proteins, sugars, coumarin, etc. Thanks to its active substances, the herb has expectorant, laxative, and appetite-stimulating effects.

Fennel seeds are used for:

  • cough, bronchitis, whooping cough
  • gastrointestinal discomfort - constipation, flatulence
  • digestive tract problems
  • colitis
  • insufficient breast milk production

For infant colic - 1 teaspoon (2-3 g) of crushed seeds are covered with 250 ml of boiling water, left to steep for 10 minutes. Strain and sweeten. Give 1-2 teaspoons after breastfeeding. For adults, make an infusion 3 times more concentrated, prepared in the same way and take 1 tablespoon after meals.

  • Do not take in large quantities as it may be toxic.
