Yarrow (Achillea Millefolium) is a perennial herbaceous plant from the Aster family (Asteraceae). In our region, you can find it in meadows, clearings, mountainous areas, grassy places, along roads, etc. It is also known as Milfoil, Devil's Nettle, Thousand-leaf, and Soldier's Woundwort. The usable parts of the plant are the stems and flowers. They are rich in essential oil, tannins, mineral salts, vitamins C and K, alkaloids, organic and fatty acids, flavonoids, mucilaginous substances, etc. Thanks to its active compounds, the herb has immunostimulating, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, hemostatic, analgesic, and appetite-stimulating properties, lowers blood pressure, and supports the reproductive system.
