#Herbs - A Well-Known Healing Remedy
Herbs have been a well-known remedy for treating various diseases since ancient times, but some of them stand out as particularly revered by our ancestors. Their properties are so distinctive and beneficial that they were quickly recognized as tools in medicine at that time, with their tradition being passed down from generation to generation, all the way to the present day.

One of these miraculous and magical plants is precisely the walnut husk. Yes, that same green covering that gradually blackens over time, leaving colored stains on our hands thanks to the phenols it contains if we're not careful and come into direct contact with it. Each of us remembers it, either from precious childhood memories in the village or from some urban space that has remained relatively wild and natural.
Although we cannot define walnut husk as an herb in the classical sense of the word, its beneficial qualities and wide application make it an irreplaceable health aid for many of us in various everyday situations.

#Walnut - "Juglans regia"
The word "walnut" comes from Old English "wealhhnutu", literally "foreign nut", where wealh means "foreign". The walnut was named so because it was introduced from Gaul and Italy. The previous Latin name for walnut was "nux Gallica" - "Gallic nut".
The walnut "Juglans regia" is a valuable tree that belongs to the Juglandaceae family.
The fruit includes four main parts: kernel, bark, shell, and green husk.
It is widely cultivated for its edible kernel. Walnut growing centers produce and discard large quantities of husks as waste products from agroforestry. However, it has been proven that the walnut green husk can be valued as a source of various natural bioactive compounds with excellent antioxidant and antimicrobial properties.
Regarding this, in this contribution, numerous studies have been conducted supporting this - scientific knowledge about antioxidant and antiradical activity, various identified and isolated individual chemical components, as well as functional applications of the walnut husk.
